The Vampires

This is an ongoing list of characters that appear in the books. I will be updating this list as I continue to work on the series and add more characters and learn more about them.

Abbreviations used:
Sire - Blood parent
Unnamed - means that the blood parent hasn't been identified in the books
T - Transformation - Date became a vampire T Unknown means that a specific date has not yet been assigned for the transformation
FD - Final Death - Date of actual death
Charter Member - Part of the original group that formed the Darkhour Corporation
(V1, etc.) - Books where the characters appear or are mentioned Bold indicates a character in the book, not bold means merely named in the book.

SIRES

Allan Cameron	Unnamed T 1650	Joined California House after the 1897 Conference. He is something of a scholar, scientist, interested in Edmund’s ideas. Scottish from the clan Cameron, who served under the chieftain Ewen Cameron, one of the most renown of the chieftains, never submitted to the authority of Cromwell. Enjoys wearing a kilt in his clan colors red and black kilt, over a purple & gold waistcoat, black velvet jacket with broad sleeves, small black berate, with a feather, and sprig of oak. Green patterned argyle socks topped with red, carrying his gun of Spanish making. (V2)
Amanda Dorn (Dead)	Sire Unnamed T Unknown FD 1935 Darkhour Charter Member	Amanda ran a brothel in San Francisco in 1849, where she met Donovan. She was one of the found members of Darkhour and served on their Board. She met her final death in 1935, murdered by Cassandra, along with Clare, the daughter she and Donovan had adopted. (v1,v2)
Old Ben	Sire Charles T 1844	Old Ben was a slave on Charles plantation. He died of old age and survived the change unnoticed or he might have been decapitated to avoid having a black sire. (v2)
Brandon (Dead)	Sire Unnamed T Unknown FD 1866	Cassandra's master, a gambler and pimp. He was killed by carpetbaggers. (v1, v2)
Cassandra	Sire Brandon T 1866 Darkhour Charter Member	Cassandra was the servant to an abusive vampire, Brandon. A gambler, Brandon was beheaded by carpetbaggers. Sixteen, Cassandra was only sixteen when she killed herself to escape them and survives the change to take her revenge. Rescued by Donovan, she became his fledgling and lover. She is one of the Charter Sires. Out of jealousy, she killed Amanda in 1936 and was sentenced to exile in a mountain lair for 75 years. (v1, v2)
Charles (Dead)	Sire Unnamed T Unknown FD 1836	A Southern plantation owner. Final death 1836 at the Alamo. Sire to Donovan, Madelin, and Roderick, and Old Ben. (v1, v2)
Cyrus	Sire Unnamed T Unknown FD 1862	A plantation owner who freed his slaves at the start of the Civil War. His plantation was overrun during the war and burnt to the ground. He died, as did many of his servants. Some of them, part of the Trudo family, died after Cyrus and became sires. (v2)
Don Diego	Sire Unnamed T Unknown Darkhour Charter Member	One of the original Spanish settlers, he had land grants. Met Amanda & Donovan in 1850. He serves as the Chairman of the current Board of Directors. (v1, v2)
Donovan	Sire Charles T 1836 Darkhour Charter Member	A 19 year old defender at the Alamo. He was blooded by Charles. On the night of March 6th he was sent out by Colonel Travis with messages. The Alamo fell and Charles was killed. Donovan was shot later that day by a Spanish marksman. He currently runs a small private mental clinic in Fillmore Grove OR, specializing in the treatment of people who believe they are vampires. (v1, v2)
Sir Edmund Horn	Sire Unnamed T Unknown Darkhour Charter Member	A pioneer in developing the Theory of Origin - a scientist working on Vampire breeding. He was born in Jamica on a sugar cane plantation. His parent was a sire from England, who was killed in 1770, and Edmund was his only surviving heir. He stayed there until 1838 when Jamica abolished slavery. Edmund used slaves to prove his theory that a blood sharing was needed to make a vampire. He moved to Louisiana and after Civil War, was a charter sire of Darkhour. He also serves on the current Board of Directors. (v1, v2)
Fatima	Sire Unnamed T Unknown Member of the Board of Directors	Fatima was a gift to the Sultan. She ruled from the Harem for many years. She attended the London Conference in 1899 and requested to join Darkhour. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors. (v1, v2)
Judith	Sire Roderick T 1946	Roderick's blooded heir. She was culled after Roderick's final death during WWII. She serves on the Darkhour Board of Directors. (v1, v2)
Madelin	Sire Charles T 1836 Darkhour Charter member	After Charles died at the Alamo, his blooded heirs were culled. Madelin and Roderick survived the change and inherited Charles' fortune and property. Edmund describes her as vindictive and stubborn, a bad combination for a vampire. (v1, v2)
Maximilien	Sire Unknown T 1973	Born 1768. Maximilien was a servant of a French aristocrat who was guillotined during the French Revolution. He was caught stealing, shot, and survived the change in 1793. He pretends to be an aristocrat, but really was only a common servant. He became acquainted with Cassandra in London and joined Darkhour in 1917. He raised Mignon and is her bloodparent. (v2)
Priscilla	Sire Unnamed T Unknown Darkhour Charter Member	Edmund's long time lover and companion. (v2)
Roderick (Dead)	Sire Charles T 1836 FD 1946 Darkhour Charter Member	After Charles died at the Alamo, those he had blooded were culled. Madelin and Roderick survived the change and inherited Charles' fortune and property. After the Civil War then came west to Amanda and were Charter Members. Roderick met his final death during WWII. Tara	Sire Roderick T 1946	She was culled after Roderick's final death during WWII. She was a married woman with a child. Her daughter became an alcoholic. She sees bringing her granddaughter Dorene over as a Second Generation as a second chance. (v2)
Torrence	Sire Unknown T 1430	Oldest vampire. He was transformed in 1430. He fought with Joan of Arc. (v1)
The Trudos	Sire Cyrus T 1862	Cyrus' plantation was overrun during the war and burnt to the ground. He died, as did many of his servants. Some of them, part of the Trudo family, died after Cyrus and became sires. Three brothers and one sister. (v2)

SECOND GENERATION

Delfina		Works for Weber & Kleine. She is in charge of the genealogical database.
Dorene	Sire Tara Maximilien Stefan Fatima Allan Cameron T 1981	Dorene is Tara's granddaughter. She was transformed in 1981 at the ceremony that Mignon attended. (v2)
Earl	Sire Donovan Amanda Madelin Roderick Cassandra T 1876	Earl was a cousin of Donovan's, orphaned after the Civil War. Donovan sent him to be raised by Amanda. He was the second initiated Second Generation in 1876. Member of the current Board of Directors. (v1, v2)
Mignon / Prane	Sire Maximilien Edmund Horn Allan Cameron Rouvin Huessin T 1966	Mignon was raised by Maximilien and forced to become a vampire. She was then married to Stefan, she briefly escaped, but was returned to him as part of the agreement that she would raise his two children. When she made her second bid for freedom, she changed her name to Prane, which means Free One. (V2)
Ramon	Sire Diego Amanda Roderick Priscella Sir Edmund T 1877	Ramon was a descendent of Don Diego, a native Californian. He lives in San Jose and was in charge of finding appropriate first kills. (V2)
Stefan	Sire Valentine Amanda Cassandra Fatima Priscilla	Born April 1889. He was orphaned at 9 and raised by Valentine. He underwent transformation at 19, in 1908. Was Cassandra's fledgling. Member of the current Board of Directors.
Valentine	Sire Amanda Donovan Edmund Priscilla Cassandra	The first second generation. Born 1856, became a vampire 1876. She was a relative of Amanda's.
Alistair Weber (Web)	T 1943	Co-owner of Weber and Kleine Security.

THIRD GENERATION

SPAWN

Sandy	Sired by Amanda and Donovan	Sandy was one of Amanda's prostitutes. She died of consumption in 1852 and survived the change. She currently works as a nurse in Donovan's clinic.

GET

John	Edmund's get	A former slave. A distant relative of Bruce Mason.
Panther	Cassandra's get	Panther was a black college student who fell prey to Cassandra and survived. He was transformed in Jan. 1981. Cassandra beheaded him in May 1981. His real name was Bruce Mason.
Ruby	Edmund's get	A former slave
Thom Barber / Thom Russo (current identity)	Valentine's get	In 1966, a group of vampires were partying in the Haight Ashbury. Thom was blooded by Valentine and several other vampires. He died in a car crash, May 1981, and when the morgue was backed up, got up and walked out. He was rescued by Donovan.
Willie	Edmund's get	A former slave.
Wolf	Cassandra's get	A white male. He was a hunter that fell prey to Cassandra . He survived the change in 1979. Cassandra beheaded him in May 1981. His real name was Willie Dodd.

Rose	Sandy's servant	Rose works as the Day Shift nurse at Donovan's clinic and is Sandy's servant.
Stanos Asai	Cassandra's servant	Became Cassandra's servant 1922. His father had served a royal family which did not exist after WWI. He was killed by Donovan May 1981.
Stephen Weber	Weber's servant	Alistair Weber's younger brother appears older so most think he is Weber's father. He is part of the management team of Weber and Kleine Security. He was born in 1931.
Wade Kain	Blooded Heir to Cassandra	May 1981 - Wade and his two friends were camping in the Oregon woods when Cassandra and her get attacked them. His two friends were killed. Cassandra kidnapped Wade. She became obsessed with him and planned to make him her get.
Yolanda	Amanda's bonded servant	Amanda's servant and Clare's nanny. She was away from the house when Amanda and Clare were killed. Donovan takes care of her. In 1981, she is 92 and living at the clinic. She often forgets that Amanda is dead. As Donovan says, sometimes he pretends with her. She is his last link to his love Amanda.

Roger	Did not survive the change 1981	Roger was a musician that Madelin convinced the Board to let become a Second. He did not survive the change. His death triggered Mignon's breakdown as she linked his death with Adam.
Sue Jenkins	Killed by Cassandra & her get - May 1981	A waitress that was kidnapped from Portland OR by Stanos, Wolf & Panther. Was to serve as Wade's first kill, but when Wade refused, Cassandra forced him to rape and murder her.
Travis	Killed by Cassandra 1866	Travis was one of the carpetbaggers who killed Brandon and raped Cassandra. He was her first kill.
