A vampire that exchanges blood with a human
at least three times. Can be more than one vampire. |
| culling |
A practice dating from Medieval times, where
all those blooded by a dead vampire are killed. Anyone who survives the
change inherits and become sires. |

In 1879 a group of vampires decided to
formalize their relationship by forming something modern, a corporation.
It is now a large and diversified company. Vampires own the stock and
sit on the Board of Directors. |
| fangs |
Vampires have retractable fangs. When a
newborn makes its first kill, the fangs erupt. They don't retract for
several weeks. Once they do retract, the vampire must learn to control
them. That stage is called the adolescent stage, where like a teenage
male, something embarrassing is always popping up at the most inopportune
moments. |

When a vampire ultimately dies. |
| first kill |
After a vampire is transformed, it is driven
by hunger to kill. Depending on the will of the vampire, it may take as
long as a week. The fangs erupt at that time. |
| get |
A vampire that has only one bloodparent.
Often nothing more than a slave without free will. Will die when the
bloodparent dies. |
| lair |
Used to describe a vampire's safe hideout,
where they sleep during the day. |
| line stability |
The fatal flaw of the vampires. A get will
weaken and die if its bloodparent dies. |
| newborn |
A term used to describe a newly transformed
vampire. The period lasts several months as the vampire body adjusts and
vampire powers develop. |
| newborn shock |
The disorientation that results from the
transformation and first kill. |
| second generation |
A vampire which is blooded by five different
bloodparents, some or all of which are sires. |
| servant |
A human bonded to a vampire. Only servants
may know of a vampires existence because they are incapable of betrayal. |
| sire |
The head of a bloodline, the strongest. A
sire was blooded, but not transformed at the time of its bloodparent's
death so was unaffected by line stability and starts a new bloodline. |
| spawn |
A vampires that has more than one bloodparent
but not the five to make it a second or third generation. |
